clothes, people with disabilities
often forego fashion in favor of
function — but you can have both.
These tips from the Arthritis
Society will tell you how to turn
store-bought fashions into easy-
to-wear styles for home and work.
The twisting, turning, push-me,
pull-you activity of daily dressing
can be agonizing when your joints
are stiff and swollen. Look for
clothes with easy-to-reach side or
front openings, longer openings,

and fasteners that are easy to reach
and easy to grasp.

Select skirts with wrap-around
openings for easier dressing.

Choose clothes with easy-to-
open fasteners like snaps or
Velcro. Or check to see if fasteners
can be easily removed and a
substitute used. Look for easy
slip-on garments with large open-
ings for the arms, head and legs.
