Your home should have at least one smoke alarm on each level, especially outside the | sleeping areas. All family members should sleep with the bedrcom doors closed and install a smoke alarm in each bedroom. ; Smoke alarms should be tested once a month by pressing the test button to ensure the battery is working. Snoffing a candle and letting the smoke drift into the alarm will ensure the smoke-sensing chamber is functioning. The battery should be replaced annually. A good time to change the battery is in the fall when you turn back your clocks at daylight savings time. If your home does not have smoke alarms, purchase them to- day. If you do not remember the last time you tested or changed the bettery in your alarm, do it now .-. SO you can rest assured.
