more than 165,000 garments
have been distributed.
Lewiscratt has refunded about
$100,000 in yarn purchases.

Last year the North Shore
Lewiscraft, located at Capilano
Mail, received 426 donated
knit items. Store manager
Edith Spears figures that about
200 customers participated in
the program. One customer
supports the program by knit-
ting items year round. She's
already made her donation for
this year — four garbage bags
filed with assorted items
including about 40 sweaters,
all lovingly handknit in wash-
able acrylic yarn.
