GR Y RICHARDS ~ Barbara Joan, West

Vancouver, B.C., passed away April 18,
1994, aged 52, on the island o| Kauai,
Hawaii, as a result of a helicapter acci-
dent. Born in Halifax, she was a daugh-
ter of the late Cecil R. Gray and Lillian
A. (Ratter) Gray. She was raised in Birch
Cove and attended Rockingham School
and was in the first graduating class of
the Halifax West High School. She earn-
ed a BA. from the University of Califor.
nia in Berkley, a B.£.0. from Mount St.
Vincent University in Nova Scotia and a
MAA. from California State University

. Northridge. She taught. school at St.

Agnes and Halifax West High School in
Halifax, Nova Scotia, Middle School in

London, England and University Hill’

Secondary School in Vancouver. She

. then taught English as a second. lan-

guage at-Vancouver Community College,
King Edward Campus and ‘at one time
was the Department Head of the College
Preparatory English Department. As well,
she wrote two books on teaching English

mated in Hawaii. A memorial service will
be held in Vancouver at the Auditorium
of King Edward Campus, Vancouver
Community College, 1155 East Broad-
way, Thursday, May 26 at 2pm. Memori-
al donations may be: made to the Bar-
bara Gray Richards Memorial . Scholar-
ship Fund at Vancouver Community Col-
lege, 1155 -East Broadway, Vancauver,
VSN 519, A second memorial service will
be held in Halifax at a tater date.

KLINCK - Elizabeth (nee Abernethy)
passed away peacefully May 17, 1994,

in her 96th year. She was predeceased .
in 1969 by her husband Leonard S..

Kinck, President Emeritus, U.8.C. She
will be dearly missed by her sister Mina
Abernethy and her many nieces and
nephews. Special thanks to the staff at
Inglewood Lodge and Hospital for their
loving care and kindness, Beth was an
accomplished violinist ‘who played with
the Vancouver Symphony and in Con-
cert, She graduated from U.B.C. (B.A.

1920) and was a member of the United -:

Church Women, Canadian Bibie Society,
U.B.C. Alumni Association, University
Women's Club, Faculty Women's Club,
Musical Society, Wesbrooh Society and

“the U.B.C. Historical Society. A memorial

service will be held Tuesday May, 24th
at 2:00 p.m. at Hollyburn Funeral Home,
