The 110 horsepower are pienty for a car of this size and weight. Even though both cars have the same suspension, the handling of the NX1600 is not as good as the NX2000, mainly because of its narrower tires. The NX1600 also has weaker brakes (front disc/rear drum instead of 4-wheel discs). Another noticeable difference is that the power steer- ing in the NX1600 felt lighter than the NX2000, again probably because of the different tires. 1 preferred the large, round, analogue gauges found in the NX2000 to the digital luminescent readout in the NXI1600. The analogue gauges look better and are easier to read. The interior of the NX_ has some notable improvements over the previous model. Radio and heater controls have been moved closer to the driver this year, and the radio is now above the heater. The form-fitting front bucket seats are comfortable and suppor- tive, but the occasional rear seat has very liule legroom or head- room. As a hatchback with a fold- down rear seat, the NX can carry a lot of cargo for such a small car. A fully-loaded NX2000 will cost over $18,000, but many sports coupes with that much equipment will cost even more. tions; Speaker City; 2001 Sound Centre. It is expected that at least two other major dealers of audio equipment will confirm their par- ticipation at a later date. The Food Building is considered to be the most advantageous area of the PNE facilities in which to showcase audio equipment, as the main entrance to the show is in that building, and it is the most centrally-located building being used, both guaranteeing the most traffic. As well, the buildine’s acoustical characteristics are con- sidered the best of all the build- ings in use for the Show. Sharing the billing with the audio extravaganza will be some of the most radical vehicles ever seen, including the incredible, hot pink ‘Bad Cad,’ a full-size, winged and finned 1959 Cadillac Coupe de Ville built for drag rac- ing, and capable of speeds of 180 miles per hour. Other vehicles will run the gamut from. street machines to radical customs to race cars. The Vancouver Motorsport Show and its Car Audio displays will be a dynamic experience not to be missed.
