IT’S GREAT to be
back home again.

I was so glad to see
my own kitchen that at
7:30 this morning I was
cleaniing out the
refrigerator. Don’t get
the idea that I wasn’t
grateful to my family
for saving me every,lef-
tover they had for three
weeks - at least it prov-
ed that they cooked the
occasional meal.
Someone even made
potato salad about two
weeks ago!

dash of garlic powder
salt and pepper

1 package frozen puff
pastry dough

Using a deep pot, simmer
chicken and assorted
vegetables in water to cover
until chicken is just done - a
fork inserted in the meatiest
part of the breast should
show clear, not pink juice.
Cool chicken until you can
handle it then strip meat
from the bones. Chop into
bite-sized pieces and place in
a shallow 9°'x12’’ baking
dish.

Return bones to the broth
and simmer, uncovered for

some new ideas for menus
whils I was away and you'll
be seeing some of them in
the next couple of weeks.
We ate a lot of meals in
British pubs - some good,
some ordinary and some
quite dreadful. The ideas
were usually good but some
of the chefs ought to choose
another line of work.

to a point.
