McEwan also added a first in the 13-14 one metre competition and a third in the open for one metre. In the girls 13-14 one metre competition, Kristy Whittig took second, Janice Kusnir had a third, Jess Howard, 6th and Beth Hawthorn an eighth place finish. Lack of talent has been North Shore's downfall in previous years, but Bayne will be bringing five or six proven senior players, who live in North and West Van, with him from the Burnaby roster.
