The ‘most feminine. neck-
line to come to us from Paris
in recent years is the Pierrot

or ruffled collar. Featured by
Yves ‘St. Laurent, it is
Victorian

The basic ingredients of

the Pierrot.. are: simple in

shape, but perhaps finicky in —

application. . In other. words,

you can easily design ‘the
collar to ‘add to any dress: or ~
blouse pattern on hand. But,

you need patience in con-

structing: the Parts.

The ‘parts. are: two collar

‘sections and two strips for

sections to fit the neckline in
length and to finish one inch
wide. E.g. for a 14-inch neck

measurement -(on the gar-

ment), cut two bands 15 by 2
inches. Fuse. interfacing
the inside of the two bands.

‘Cut ‘the: raffles. to ‘quit the
fabric, . approximately. three
times. the length of the. collar:

ruffle. Gather up the ruffles —

_ to.fit the neckline. Place. the
‘wide. ruffles in position on
the'right side of the blouse or
