By Peggy Trendell-Whittaker Contributing Writer Our forests and mountains are sure to be mentioned in any tourist's postcard home, and the parks and shaded lanes that dot our neighborhoods are an ur- ban-dweller’s delight. The question is, what are we willing to do about these and other decisions that affect our natural environment, our pocket- books, and our ingrained lifestyle habits? For most people, the starting point in their ‘‘green’’ conscious- ness is recycling with the local blue box program. It’s easy, it makes us feel good, and while it 44 We must decide whether or not to cater to car drivers. 99 certainly doesn't solve all the problems, it’s a way of making a Start. The curbside blue box pickup is administered by the North Shore Recycling Program, a municipal government agency that represents North Vancouver City and District, and West Vancouver.
