The North Vancouver jazz singer maps the path of hearts on her latest CD. Stops along the way: longing, captivation, surrender, proposition, fulfil- ment, disillusionment, forsak- ing, melancholy, recovery and wisdom. It’s a framing device for 10 songs — mostly standards circa 1930s — that make up a first-class disc featuring Daniels on vocals, Houston Person on tenor sax, Miles Black on piano, Blaine Wikjord on drums and Darren Radtke on bass. Says Daniels, “It’s what they call a good old-fashioned concept. I came up with the idea of telling a story.
