BEREAVEMENT GROUP Members help each other From page 11 began giving performances at local senior citizens’ homes. Since then she has started giving Iessons out of her home studio. Some participants just come for the recreation, while about 20 per- form at various events, including the Kitsilano Showboa:. Among her participants are a number of grandmothers — and even a great-grandmother. Wright has actually taught danc- ing for much of her life. Divorced years ago and left with three small boys, she supported them all by teaching. After remarrying, she got back into teaching about 15 years ago. ““When I looked back on what had been th: -: horrible year of my life, | realized how many wonderful people there are and how great they have been to me. 1 wanted to give a little back,’ says Wright. She is most thankful for the support she got from her friends, Lions Gate Hospital support groups, and the Widows’ Network she contacted through North Shore Social Services. She was greatly helped through some of the stages of bereavement by a book of poems published by Audrey Franklin of the Widows’ Network. Entitled Working My Way Through Grief, the booklet is available through North Shore Social Services. The greatest thing about support groups, says Wright, is **knowing you're noi alone, “It makes all the difference in the world. Getting through this experience is something ‘you’ have to do, but it’s easier when we help each other,”’ says Wright. For more information, Wright can be contacted at 987-4787. Jungianism goes to the grassroots From page 9 In 1974, Bosch moved to Zurich and entered the Jung Institute as a training candidate. A year and a half and eight exams Iater, she decided to leave the institute for a job in Britain, where she worked in a psychiatric day clinic. Feeling that she had ‘‘finally cast off (her) WASP role of trying to live the conventional life in order to survive,” Bosch decided to offer her services on a fersonal level or starve in the attempt. To this end, she engaged in some dream interpretation. and ‘‘tight therapy’? with four women in her Bloomsbury grad residence. In 1978, she went back to Zurich to the Jung Institute, but Bosch found herself increasingly uncom- fortable with the way things were run there, and says she thought it lacked a good democratic process. Bosch was disqualified from con- tinuing at the institute in 1978 — “they never said why’? —- but con- tinued to study privately with two Jungian doctors, doing case work as part of her training. In North Vancouver since 1985, ’ Bosch is finding that people are reading very widely and becoming well-informed. “The Jung cat is out of the bag,’’ she said, pointing out that there are currently 1,200 people around the world training to be formal therapists, whereas there were only 300 10 years ago. Bosch is a member of Van- couver’s Jung Society, which meets every month, May. to September, and is open to anyone interested in Jung and his work.
