Traffic tragedy

A NORTH Vancouver woman and her in-laws from
England were killed on Saturday after two vans crashed
head-on near Banff.

Kirsten Daniela Cross, 23, her husband's stepfather,
Jchn Edmund Coates, 72, and her husband's mother,
Judith Angela Coates, 55, died at the scene, according to
the Banff RCMP Highway Patrol.

Cross’ husband and passenger in the van, Roy Alfred
Cross, 29, survived the crash, He suffered shock and emo-
tional trauma, according to police.

Banff RCMP say 2 £994 Chevrolet Astro van allepedly
crossed double solid lines in the easthound lane of the
Trans-Canaca Highway near Copper Creek.

The Chey van hit a 1995 Ford van, driven by Kirsten
Danis» Cross.

Cross’.van rolled into a ditch and came to rest on its
_roof, said police. .

The driver of the Chev van, Kyung ‘Jae Park, 26, of
‘Surrey, suffered serious injuries, His passenger, Seawong
Jeong, 30, visiting Cunada from Korea, sustained bruises
as a result of the 11:30 .9.m. crash. Charges are pending.
