long and distinguished record of
his career in public office. Upon
arriving in North Vancouver in
1908 from Moose Jaw, where he

The Vance house is an impor-
tant heritage home in the City of
North Vancouver. It is a fine ex-
ample of the transition in archi-
tectural styles from the asym-
metrical and picturesque late
Queen Anne, to the more formal
and classical Colonial Revival
Style.

This form may be appropriately
labelled Edwardian. Many of its :
original details are still intact. The iN oe ™ Gite

classical columns have survived, as ra
have the gable ends with their
decorative fish-scale shingling,
and the cross-leaded panes
highlighting the third-floor win-
dows.
