A THIEF claiming to have a bomb robbed the Park Royal branch of the Royal Bank Friday afternoon. A man Carrying a box, and with a gun also visible, entered the bank about 3 p.m. and burst straight into the manager's office, where a customer was being inter- viewed. The intruder told the manager the box con- tained a bomb. The bank was immediately cleared of customers and staff. Meanwhile, the robber went to the central teller’s booth, took the cash there and fled, just before police arnved, followed by the bomb squad. Details of the amount of money taken were not immediately available.
