Tourism B.C. is offering
up to $14,000 in cash prizes

Minister Elwood Veitch
announced recently.

“It is time we officially
recognized the efforts of
writers who tell the world
about travel experiences in
our, super, natural. British
Columbia,” Veitch said.

“Towards this end,
therefore, my ministry is
sponsoring an annual

Tourism British Columbia
Travel Writers’ Awards
contest.” .

This year, travel stories
published between January
1, 1979, and March 31, 1980,
anywhere in the world and in
any language, will be
eligible.

Awards will be offered in
four geographic categories:
travel articles published in

B.C. publications, other
Canadian publications, U.S.
publications, and

New home building con-
tinues in North Vancouver's
Grouse Woods area, in
subdivisions now cither scll-
ing or under construction on
both sides of Nancy Greene
Way—a continuation of Cap-
ilano Rd. ‘“

North Vancouver District
Council gave approval last
week to the final 11 lof in
Grouse Woods Phase Tl, the
most northerly section of the
‘area so far developed.

In each category three
prizes will be offered: $2,000
for an article appearing in a
publication with a cir-
culation of over 50,000;
$1,000 for an article ap-
pearing in.q publication with
a circulation between 15,000
and 50,000; and $500 for an
article appearing in a
publication with a cir-
culation less than 15,000.

Entries must be pos =
marked no later than Apmil
7, 1980. —

Winning entrants will be
invited to an awards banquet
and a one-week tour of B.C.
in 1980.

Articles published in B.C.
government publications are
not eligible.
