Section 745 of the Criminal Code allows first-degree murderers to apply for a judicial review of their sentence after serving 15 years in custody, Olson became eligible on Monday, the 15th anniversary of his 1981 arrest on Vancouver Island, In 1982 he was convicted on 11 counts of first-degree murder..He was sentenced to 25 years in prison without parole.
