The 1996 award, which consists of the Brock House Society Gold Medal and a $10,000 tax-free grant from Hongkong Bank of Canada, will be given to a Canadian citizen who is 65 or older, a resident of B.C. and, in the selection committee’s judg- ment, has a demonstrated record of voluntary commu- nity service. “The purpose of the award is to create greater , public awareness of the -itnportant contributions senior citizens are making to our society, to recognize their accomplishments and record them in the history of - our province.” says Brock House Society president Dr. Dick Stace-Smith, The 1995 winner was Ruth Wolfe, who. was hon- ored for ber lifetime dedica- tion to community service in ihe Gkanagan.. _ Alt seniors .acrcss the province are encouraged .to participate.
