Menu peppered with spicy items From page 29 something on the menu they will like. The Star’s menu is peppered with enough Szechuans, Hoonans, Hot Peppers, Mongolians and King Poas to bring pleasantly flushed faces and sweaty brows to fans of spicy Chinese cuisine. And the more sedate palates will find ample selection of regulation Mandarin Chinese to satisfy their wonts. The Star's tood is good quality, and it is turned out with just enough flourish to keep things in- teresting. Servings avoid being overly generous and overwhelming. Table Hopping sampled orders of Szechuan Chicken ($7), Moo- Shu Pork ($7) and Prawns Fried Rice ($5.95). It came with a good hot pepper kick, though less than we would have liked. The dish included a good portion of chicken breast, accom- panied with slices of water- chestnuts, bamboo shoots, baby corn and bok choy. The moo-shu contained more shredded cabbage and bean sprouts than sliced pork, but | lik- ed the thin, chewy Mandarin pan- cakes that accompanied the main moo-shu. The dish’s ingredients combine to make a good savory oriental-style crepe. The Prawns Fried Rice was min- ed with a half dozen big, sweet prawns amid a melange of white rice, fried egg, carrots and peas.
