Playing in the SFU 42-3 loss to the University of Puget Sound Loggers, Millington recorded 63 yards, bringing him to a season total of 1,004 yards and 2 new single-season record. Orville Lee, the Canadian Football Lesgue’s number-one draft pick this season and now a player with the Ottawa Rough Riders, set the 920-yard record last year. The first SFU player to break the 1,000-yard mark, Millington, 20, has one more game to further build his new record when the Clansmen face the Central Washington Wildcats Nov. 12. Mom, daughter finish triathlon NORTH VANCOUVER’S Liisa and Eeva Lantela became the first Canadian mother and daughter to finish the Irouwman Triathion — the granéfathker of triathlons — last month in Hawaii. “It was pretty exciting,’’ said Eeva, 31, who finished the race in 13 hours and 18 minutes. ‘‘I would say (the race) was around what T expected it to be, maybe a litile bit easier.” Poor swimmers, only recreational runners and not even owning bikes, Eeva and Liisa; 52, jumped whole-heartedly into training and competing just more than & year ago. Training in Hawaii for two weeks prior to the race heiped the mother-daughter duo get used to the climate, something that in the end helped them to a stronger finish. ‘There was no way I wasn’t going to make it to the finish line,’ said Eeva. ‘‘Even if I had to walk I was going to finish."’ Out of 1,300 triathletes competing, the top woman’s time was nine hours and one minute; Liisa finished in 15 hours and 26 minutes.
