In 1986, Honda received many
requests from young business ex-
ceutives who loved the luxury of
the EXi but who wanted to be in
control, This resulted in the addi-
tion of a S-speed, fully syn-
chronized manual transmission
model of the EXi for 1987.

As a side benefit, the 5-speed
model delivers a respectable 9.9
1/100 km (23.8 mpg) city and 7.2
1/100 km (32.5 mpg) highway.

The Honda EXi won the 1986
AJAC award for ‘Best Imported
Sedan’’.

The 1987 EXi offers such stan-
dard features as electric mirrors,
door locks, radio antennae and
steel-belted radial ply Michelin
tires.

On the inside, the owner can ex-
pect tilt-steering, cruise control,
tinted glass, a fold-down rear seat
with centre arm-rest, four-speaker
sound system and power windows.

The car has double wishbone
suspension front and rear and the
added strength of a rear stabilizer
bar to smooth out tight corners.
