LGH has now instituted a **Special Volunteer’’ pro- gram so that the feeling of isolation peopic get in the hospital can be beaten. ‘Certain medical problems require patients to stay for long periods of convales- cence before they can return home, while still others are permanent residents in the extended care unit. Dermott McInnes and social worker Sally Hughes are directing the program to train volunteers to solve this problem.
