T was out of the country
when the recent news items
regarding Councillor Darrel!

Mussatto’s bid to have “hate
merchants” barred from mak-

ing use of the North Van Cit

library were published.

So here is some background
to his brave stance.

He claimed that one hun-
dred “skinheads” attended my

fundraiser in the library, which
had been held on May 14.

In fact, there were none,
and corrections have appeared
on that point in The Vancouver
Sua and The Province.

Miussatto also said he was
“told” that neo-Nazis attended
the meeting, but he dors not
sav who told him.

In any event, thar way
another piece of pure fieman.

Nothing in Mussatta’s
clans was accurate.

To my knowledge. the
RCMP were nat called in,
there having been absolutely
no reason for them tu be there,
the meeting having been
entirely orderly.

TE question, too, whether the
brary staf¥ “tele inumidated,”
untess they can be intimidated
by three elderly men with bald
heads.

Audience members con-
tributed $2,600 to my court
challenge of B.C.’s outrageous
“hurnan rights” iaw, and no
doubt they were interested to
hear they were skinheads.

(It is no doubt beyond
Mussarto’s brain power to
comprehend that even if skin:
heads had been present, they
too are entitled to listen to a
specch.)

That a councillor could
make such statements without
bothering to check on them is
a reflecuon on his abiticy to
hold office.

He was not at the meeting
and had no idea what I said.

In fact, I denounced the
B.C."s human rights fiasco, as
was accurately reported by
News repr. t Brady
Fotheringham.

More recently, when asked
whether I should be allowed in
the library again, the councillor
said it would depend on what T
had to say.

Does that mean that I
should offer 2 script to. this
genius in advance? Has he
appointed himself as North
Van City’s official censor?

Subsequently, CUPE presi-
dent Cindy McLean said she
was glad city council was “try-
ing to help.”

Trying to help what?
Suppression of freedom of
‘speech? Her NDP friends’
attack on it?
