Fund sei up for student

A trust fund has been
set up for a Japanese vis-
itor who has rung up a
tab approaching
$200,000 at Lions Gate
Hospital.

Although 25-year-old
Yukari Yoshioko has insurance,
it will cover only $33,000.

Yoshioko was hit with a

severe case of pneumonia in
early January and has been in
the hospital's intensive care
unit ever since.

Doctors say her chance of

surviving has improved to 50
50.

Contributions can be made
to the Yukari Trust Fund ar
North Shore Credit Union's
Lonsdale branch,

Mykiko, Yoshioke’s morh-

er, said she is grateful to the
hespital for its care of her
daughter and reducing the
daily tee more than $2,600 a
day to $1,069.

The hospital also provided a
room for Mykiko when she
arrived trom Japan, although
she is staying at 2 private home
now,
