Last week, West Vancouver-Capilano Social Credit candidate John Reynolds said two of his large signs had been torched in the British Properties; North Van- couver-Seymour New Democratic Party candidate Dominique Roelants’ team had also reported damage to their election signs. Reynolds again reported vandalism to some of his election sigas over the past weekend, saying several signs were damaged on Oct. 13. He calied the incidents an ‘‘organized effort’ to dam- age his election signs. Reynolds said that on Oct. 13 his campaign office and a large election sign were damaged. He estimated the cost of the damage at $800. The total damage done to Reynolds’ signs during the campaign, he said, is closer to $3,000. Reynolds said he was ‘saddened that the level of campaigning in this provincial election has sunk to this depth. “In over 20 years as a politician, both federally and provincially, I cam xever remember such wanton disregard for property,”’ said Reynolds. David does tive ia Norin Vancouver,” said a spokesman for Mitchell’: campaign office. The residence factor has also played a part in the West Vancouver-Garibaldi election race.
