ERIKSEN ~- Evelyn Lorraine
Enksen passed away peacetully
al West Vancouver Care Centre
on July 4, 1987. Born on Van-
couver in 1902. daughter of the
pionee: businessman George
(Henry) Hewitt and Lucinda (Anne
liza) Hewitt. Marned in 1920 to
Viggo Eriksen (predeceased in
1982) who al that ttme had
established Eriksen Bros Stp-
yard in North Vancouver and later
the Pacilic Navigation Co
operating the SS Crutser through
the Gull [stands and Howe
Sound, In 1921 they moved to
Travers Ave and raised a tamily
of four. Mrs. Eriksen accom.
panied her husband during his
services in the navy at Esquimalt
and Halifax. After the war they
developed 2 resorts on Van-
couver fsland, then returned to
West Vancouver and built and
operated the Park Royal Hotel
Upon retitement they travelled
extensively . Mrs) Enksen was a
member of the Ladies Auxihary
fo the Social Credit Party in West
Vancouver. She will be missed by
her foving tamily: 3 daughters,
Mrs. Dale McGowan and Mrs
AM. McKenzie (Virginia), Mrs
Diane Melissen: son George
Hewitt Eriksen; grandchilaren
Nicholas, James. Paul, Charles,
Brian, Bruce and Rosalind: great
grandchildren Dickson, Jeanna
and Holly. There will be a family
memorial service at 1425.25th
