Dear Editor:

My disgust and outrage over
Paul Watson's criminal actions in
Iceland are compounded by Bob
Hunter’s incredible statement in
your recent issue—'‘Somebcdy
had to do it” because ‘there is no

. mechanism to deal with crimes
against nature.’*

Paul Watson, as was perfectly
obvious from his gratification at
having obtained the attention of
the media, is an unbalanced indi-
vidual intent upon making a com-
ic-book hero of himself. But Bob
Hunter is a columnist for a
responsible newspaper.

Protecting the whales is a good
cause, International goodwill, and
protecting property against van-
datism are good causes in which I
strongly believe.

Therefore according to Hunter,
because there apparently is ‘'no
mechanism to deal with crimes
against’? another nation and its
property, I would be quite justified
in taking the punishment for Wat-
son's crimes into my own hands
and setting fire to his house. That
is the road to anarchy, and
fanatics in our own country seem
to be travelling it in increasing
numbers.

Who ars we to criticize other
countrics when we bomb abortion
clinics, sink and ram ships, destroy
millions of dollars westh of in-
stallations and ‘wash the: police
boats which protect the warships
of a friendly nation in. our harbor?
All in the name 37 iove, peace and
harmony!

Dear Editor:

1 see where some ethnic and civil
liberties groups are advocating
changing the name Stalin on seyv-
eral Canadian locations. They call
him one of the bloodiest tyrants in
history.

They named these places after
him because he was a hero while he
led his people to victory killing
Germans. If the Germans hadn't
decided to turn cast, instead of
putting that energy into their
western drive, Britain, and
possibly the whole world, would be
goose-stepping now.

As long as they don’t call it

he left this country in. I wonder if
they would rol] out the zed carpet
for our former ally as they have
done for our former enemies?
