The North Shore tenor sings the roles of Fiorello, Ambroggio and the Sargeant. Rossini’s light-hearted perennial favorite, opening Sat, Jan. 18 at Queen Elizabeth Theatre, is sung in Italian and is full of the fa- miliar musig that has kept audiences humming for 170 years, Ray. who studied in Toronto, Vancouver and at the Banff School of Fine Arts, has been a member of Vancouver's Opera Chorus since 1979. He was last) seen as Amelia's servant ina Mask- ed Ball and as the chorus leader in Eugene Onegin. Last season Ray appeared as the first prisoner in Fidelio.
