In major league action, a three-way battle is shaping up between Skyline Sports, Capilano Lions and Stongs. Highland Optical is yet to win a game this season. This week with the Capilano Lions pitted against Stongs, John Ridd had four hits and three RBI's and Tom Atkins of the Lions had 3 RBIs. Jim Clarke and Earle Birney of Skyline hit home runs in action against Highland Optical. The pitching wars are warming up with Earle Birney, Geoff Stollery, and Andrew Shandro_ for Skyline; John Ridd and R_J. Caswell with Capilano Lions; and Mike Slaney with Stongs keeping every batter on his toes as the season progresses. As each team’s. skills improve and the season gathers momentum, you can quickly recognize better baseball in just these past three weeks. Baseball fever has caught on with the residents of Forest Hills, too, as it is impossible to find a seat in the bleachers during any of the major or minor league games.
