[I am editor/producer of the West Vancouver Garden Club’s monthly bulletin, which entails a regular mailing to 200 members, and it behooves me to speak on their behalf. Every month J receive com- plaints from at least two, and sometimes three, members who take trouble to inform me that they did not receive a bulletin, the purpose of which is to announce the coming month’s program. When | informed a member of the West Vancouver post office staff of this fact he stated, ‘‘l don’t believe you”’ and hastily ad- ded, ‘But I’m not calling you a liar.” 1 toid him 1 could supply him with the names of two members who had not received the last (October) mailing. I also said that this particular mailing had been important because their annual membership cards had been enclosed, at which he stated I should have ‘‘regis- tered’? the envelopes. Another staff member, a senior man in a business suit, witnessed this ex- change but said nothing. A survey taken at the December meeting, at which 100 plus members attended, revealed that three members present did not receive their notice of the meeting. I can supply the names of two but the third left before { could iden- tify her. This information is presented to you for two reasons: (1) that your delivery system needs attention, and (2) likewise customer relations at the West Vancouver post office. Pat Strike West Vancouver WHITE POWDER AT BORDER Tip could mean trouble Dear Editor: .I read Barbara McCreudie’s Travelwise ce‘umn often and ap- preciate the helpful hints. Usually, all are carefully thought out and obviously discovered by experi- ence, However, one tip in the Dec. 24 column was not thought out. How would customs officials at any border react to bringing over cornstarch and baking soda in plastic pill bottles?
