City Haii hosts exhibii

. Photo Maché a showcase

for Cap College students

SOME dramatic and imaginative
student photos will be on display at
the City of North Vancouver munic-
ipal hall from April 8 to May 1.
Entitled Photo Maché, the photo exhibit is
the work of first-year photo students of the
media resources program at Capilano College.
“I’m continually astonished at what the stu-
dents come up with,” says photo instructor Jan
Westendorp. Techniques employed include

sandwiched negatives — two negatives put
together and printed as one photograph, as
well as multiple exposure, collage and mon-
tage. The results are eclectic, exciting and free,
says Westendorp.

The exhibit itself is organized by the media
resources program students. It is a compilation
of the students’ best work all year.

The students will be on hand to discuss
their work at a public reception Thursday, April
17 between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m.

The exhibit is sponsored by the North
Vancouver Community Arts Council.

The municipal hall is located at 141 W.
14th St., North Vancouver.
