THE CHURCH bells will be ringing today as Christians all
over the North Shore celebrate Easter Sunday. For those
people, the true meaning of Good Friday and Exster Sunday
is to mourn the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and then cele-
brate His resurrection from the dead. But in our diverse
community, Easter weekend is more of a springtime celebra-

tiva than a religious celebration for a lot of people. It’s the
first long weekend of the year! Instead of attending church

services, they'll be loading up the car and getting out of town
for the weekend, Others will be staying at home and doing
their spring cleaning or starting their spring gardening. The
merchants will be holding Easter sales. Families will be get-
ting together for tea and hot-cross buns, And, of course, chil.
dren will be coloring hard-boiled eggs and waking up to bas-
kets full of jelly beans and chocolate bunnies. There's some-
thing for everyone, whatever your beliefs, — Happy Easter!
