Six-day delay in reporting man missing in Lions wilderness area A SYX-day delay between the time a hiker disappeared while in a local wilderness area and the time he was actu- ally reported as being missing has seriously hampered search and rescue efforts to find the man. The location had been the Pant destination of the day hike. Krist] had lagged behind during the hike in, and as the three others he was with biked cut, they upparently assumed that he was following behind them. The eroup made it to the Cypress Bowl parking lot at about $:30 p.m. and then waited there for two hours for Krist! to show up before finally leaving. But it was not und! the after- noon of Saturday, July 25, that Lions Bay Search and Rescue and the North Shore Rescue Feam were called out to search the wilderness area for Kristl.
