Moss in North Vancouver provincial court on Ju- ly 4: Michael Leslie Mackelson was sentenced to 10 days in jail and placed on probation for 25 days after the 42-year-old North Van- couver man was found guilty of a Jan. 26 assault. As well, Mackelson was fined $100 for having contact with the victim on Feb. 9 after making an undertaking to the court not to do so. Before Judge D.E. Last week, two-page article Time published a couver Island clearcut comtrasting called Canada's Troubled Trees which includes photographs of a Van- with stately spruce from the Carinanah Valley. The article said 90% of Canadian estry Sitka Minister Frank Oberle deszribed the ‘*mild’’ compared with what has been published and shown in Europe. Walker in North Vancouver provincial court on June 28: James Sinclair Craig received a suspended sentence and was plac- ed on probation for one year after the 43-year-old North Vancouver man pleaded guilty to a charge of common assault in connection with a June {2 incident. eee Robert Edward Ves:tu was sentenced to 214 days in jail after the 22-year-old North Vancouver man pleaded guilty to three counts of driving while prohibited in connection with incidents occurr- ing between Nov. 25, 1990 and April 22. Vesty was sentenced to another day in jail for stealing cigarettes May 25 from a 7-Eleven Food Store.
