to describe various types of
residential cunstruction. A
quick run-down of the most
typical West Coast types of
homes is provided here by
the Real Estate Board of
Greater Vancouver.

«Single storey — a home
where all the principal ac-
commodation (living room,
dining room, bedrooms,
kitchen, bathrooms) is on
one floor. It can be built
with or without a basement.
This type of heme is also
described as a bungalow.

© Split-level — this home is
similar to a single storey but
the main floor is stepped to
a noticeable extent. A
common example is one in
which the lower level is built
slightly above grade over a
low crawl space. This level
contains entrance hall, living
room, dining room and
kitchen. The adjoining up-
per level, which is not as
high as in a two-storey
home, usually contains the
bedrooms and bathrooms.
*Two-siorey — all the
