In recent victories that include a 1-0 win over Mountain Shadow and a 6-2 trouncing of P.J.'s All Stars, Richard and Robert Penn- ington continue to score goals while defender Ian McGregor an- chors the back line. In NSISA Division I action, the new North Van Soccer Club top- judging from the depth of new tal- ent available to the Flames this year, coach Rawson will be hard pressed to make the prescribed player cuts by that date. The Flames opened the scoring at the 4:36 mark of the first period with Sean Morrison scoring on a tic-tac-toe passing play from Kevin Hansen and Graham Newall. Three minutes later the Bluehawks replied with a power-play goal to knot the score at one. The Flames went ahead 2-1 midway through the period on an unassisted goal by Kevin Buhr, but the Bluehawks got the equalizer again on the power-play with just under three minutes remaining in the period to leave the two teams tied 2-2 after one. The North Shore squad took command of the game in the se- cond period, adding a pair of goals to their total while keeping the Bluehawks off the board. Wade Fischer combined with Buhr and Newall to make it 3-2 midway through the frame, and then Richard Tetzlaff connected from Morrison and Paul Schuite with only 25 seconds remaining to give the Flames a 4-2 bulge at the end of two. The Flames added three unanswered goals in the third period with Buhr scoring from Scott Stirling and Newall on the power-play one minute into the frame, and then Brad Kyllo scor- ing from Fischer and Schulte at 1211. ames fry Burnaby Bluehawks Kyllo added the Flames’ final goal of the game two minutes later, with Tetzlaff drawing the lone assist on the goal. Burnaby tallied a final goal with 14 seconds remaining in the game for the 7-3 finals. Lloyd Lewis and Keith McKen- zie shared goaitending duties for the Flames, handling a combined total of 26 shots as North Shore shooters rattled the Burnaby cage with 34 shots.
