1% cups boiling water

1 cup rolled oats

Ys cup shortening

¥: cup molasses (table)

1 tablespoon salt

2 packages dry yeast or 2

tablespoons

¥2 cup quite warm water

2 eggs
5% cups all-purpose flour

In a large mixing bowl, combine
water, oats, shortening, molasses
and salt. Stir well and cool to
lukewarm. Combine yeast and
warm water in a smail bow! and let
stand 10 minutes or until yeast
bubbles. Combine with oat mix-
ture.

Beat eggs lightly and add.

Stir in flour and mix thoroughly.
Let stand, covered, in a warm
place for 15 minutes. Turn out on
a floured board and divide in half.
Form loaves by flattening each
half, rolling it over in thirds and

tucking the ends underneath.

Place in greased loaf tins and let
rise until doubled in a warm place.
About 1% hours. Bake one hour
at 3S0°F.
