We have to get involved in doing it.” Dungey has been working North told to Approximately {00 en- thusiastic women gathcred at the ‘North Shore Now!’ luncheon held at Capilano College in late may. Former West Van Alderman Ann Arnott was guest speaker at the celebratory luncheon planned by a number of organizations and in- dividuals. North Shore women met at a wine reception before lunch to exchange in formation about issues which interest them and to familiarize themselves with the services offered by North Shore organizations. When Dungey started the job on a part-time basis, she said she didn’t like her mandate at all. “The mandate of the job was to get jobs for job ready people. Well, I was here an hour and found that | didn't have anybody who was job ready. And what is job ready anyway.” Dungey was given the freedom to change her mandate and the job has evolved to the point that Dungey is now finding jobs for “special needs” clients. “I've had to go into this community and build up a reputation for myself and this program,” Dungey says. She now feels that this reputation has been established. “This office is quite hore women be political various service groups and organizations are made by pohtical bodies. “Women have returned to colleges and universities, have moved out tnto the community, and the com- munity = has benefitted greatly from this,” she sand.
