Hen gy? i ANNOUNCEMENTS | _ | = Couple weds in park THE SUN was shining and the surf crashing as former Lynn Valley residents Laura Erickson and Mark Brown were wed in Cates Park Sept. 10. A small gathering of 50 people waited in the park with Brown and best man John Aftias. The proces- sion was led by a lone bagpiper, followed by flower girls Clarissa Woodley and Jenine Lambert, maid of honor Barb Wocdley, and father of the bride Ernie Erickson. The reception was held at the Rally Point banquet hall later that evening where the dining and dan- cing went on until the wee hours of the morning. Mother of the bride is Ines Erickson, while the groom’s parents are Pat and Barbara Brown, longtime residents of Lynn Valley. Both Mark and Laura Brown grew up in Lynn Valley and now live in the Upper Lonsdale area. “They were to honeymoon in Jamaica, but Hurricane Gilbert blew that idea away,’ said the groom’s sister, Robyn Brown. In- stead, they went to Puerto Vallar- ta. LAURA ERICKSON AND MARK BROWN Carrier awarded scholarship KERRY PENDLETON, a 12- year-old North Shore News carrier, has been awarded a York House School Foundation Scholarship. Formerly a Ross Road Elemen- tary student, Kerry entered Grade 7 at York House in Vancouver this September.
