Biagioni were confirmed as
Social Credit candidates by the
party faithful at a nomination
meeting Tuesday.

Gillanders, the leader of the for-
merly formidable party, will run in
the West Vancouver-Capilano rid-
ing. .

The 42-year-old businessman

ship or direction from B.C.’s three
most popular parties, Gillanders
concluded, “Our new team is the
alternative.”

Gillanders said the cost of set-_
tling land claims is a federal respon-
sibility and has outlined an cight-
step approach to setting B.C. land
claims. .

The first step, according to a
Sept. 21 press release, is to suspend
all fand cliim negotiations and
“obtain a judicial finding based on
the legality of the question that B.C.
has already paid.”

wornan's body was found at a

mation has been confirmed.

these rumors are out of control and
what we're trying to do is put out the
fires.”

Galliford said some of the
rumors have been spread throughout
the community through computer e-
mail.

Meanwhile Abbotsford Police
describe the suspect as a Caucasian
male in his late 30s, He is tall, thin,
has thin lips and has reddish brown
hair which is balding on top.

His vehicle is described as being
an older model full size car which is
light in color. The car is reportedly
not in good condition and has a loud
muffler, ,

The car displays “lots” of primer
and bondo, according to Abbotsford
Police,

Gillanders has begun the fegal
process to get a declaration of B.C.’s
constitutional responsibility.

Gillanders also rejects the con-
cept of inherent right to self-govern-
ment, preferring municipal- style
government for natives.

“Phase out the Indian Act and
phase in equality,” said Gillanders.

Gillanders joined the Social
Credit party in 1988.

Biagioni, meanwhile, is a 39-
year-old chartered accountant who
will be running for the Socreds in
the North Vancouver-Lonsdale rid-
ing. He is currently the chief finan-
cial officer for TelSott Mobile Data
Inc,
