Sizzler restaurant at
Westview Centre could
present possible dining
trauma.

some of the salad items that
are available at the new
North Vancouver restau-
rant.

This newest contender in the
diverse salad bar and fami-
ly-friendly dining division requires
its patrons to run an eager-waitress
gauntlet upon entry.

But, if you, 2s an erudite and
bargain-hungry diner, are able to
think on your feet, you should be
able to waltz away from Sizzler
wearing a satisfied grin and a
well-stained napkin.

New to the Sizzler systern, Table
Hopping’s family staff ambled into
the 150-seater overlooking the
Upper Levels Highway on a recent
Tuesday night.

Though not at full sizzle,
business was in advanced sputter,
with diners treading carefully
around beholding the gleam of
fresh faces from the Sizzler staff
and airy brightness fromn the build-

-ing’s modern design.

And, horror of horrors, especial-
ly for anyone adventurous.enough
to dine with children, hungry
children: There was a lineup.

Bui lineups are a byproduct of
the Sizzler system.

Diners make their way to the
‘menu board, where waitresses
stand at.attention with pens poised
over pads awaiting choices.

Your choices.

Now. .

Dithering, delay or indecision
will not do. Moans will be zaised
from those waiting behind you
and increase the volumes of hot
breath being huffed down your
neck by hungry patrons.

Waitresses, too, become ner-
vous as they try to deflect custom-
er glares with new-employee
smiles. :

Fortunately, Sizzier’s menu is far
from challenging. Decisions
should therefore be fairly
straightforward.

There is plenty of steak and
chicken with a sprinkling of
seafood, either solo or in com-
bination with steak,

Entrees range from $5 up to $13
for the Prime Rib dinner. There is
also a children’s menu (for those

' under 10}, prices go from $3 to $5,
: which most children should be
able to afford. And seniors get 10
per cent off all menu prices.
: The much-hurrahed and good
: quality Sizzler salad bar is $8.99 if
you have it as a dinner entree,
($6.99 for lunch), and $3.69 if you
have it in addition to an entree.
