Aimie Lehouiller climaxed a solo rush with a perfect goal. Howie Carty and Mike Pajskar padded the lead later in the period, as the Buzzards kept Driller goalie, Keith Gibson busy. News NORTH SHORE News pushed their record to 2-0 last week when they upended Super Valu (Westlynn Mall) 5-3 in one of three North Shore Industrial Hockey League games. Other action saw Wrigleys dump the N.S. Hobby Brewins 11-2 while N.V. Japan Camera edge the Lyn- nwood 3-2. Grant McGinn scored three goals leading the News The victory vaulted the Buzzards over the Drillers in- to second place. Firefighters started ex- plosively, piling up a 4-0 lead half way into the first period, then holding on for a 6-4 vic- tory, their first of the season, over the Warriors. Rick Virs and Joe Chisholm led the at- tack, each with two goals and an assist, and Rick Titcomb potted one and earned two assists for the winners. Behind 5-2 entering the third period, Warriors got two quick goals by Wilf Arm- strong and John Dobbs to make it close, but Titcomb’s goal with 4 minutes remain- ing sealed the win. Canadians moved into sole possession of first place with a solid 7-2 thumping of the Old Crows. A balanced at- tack was fled by Mel Melnechenko and Jim delivers the to their second win in as many games. Wrigleys had some very fortunate luck around the net while the Brewins didn’t have things the way they wanted. N.V. Japan Camera scored their first win of the season on late third period goal by Maurer, each with a goal and two assists, and Don Ehl with two third-period goals.
