B. Co Hydro paid a total of
$1,721,531 in school taxes
and municipal grants to
north shore communities

during 1978, compared with.

$1,351,041 in 1977.

‘Payments, with 1977
figures in brackets, were:
City of North Vancouver,
$324, 762 ($242,598); District
of North Vancouver,
$950,446 ($743,670); District
of West Vancouver,
$439,835 ($359,911); Village
of Lions Bay, %$6,488
($4,862).

The amounts were part of
a total of $55 million which
Hydro paid to 121 cities and
municipalities ahd many
unincorporated rural areas
in the province. The 1977
total was $41 million.

School taxes, which
Hydro pays in most areas on
the same basis as other
taxpayers, accounted for $47
million of the total.
