win official approval to turn
his Dundarave Cafe into a
pub, John Wiechold has
done the next best thing.

He’s turned his

unofficial neighbourhood
pub.

Bear neighbourhood pub in
Lynn Valley — on board

Lonsdale’s subterranean
outpost of British pub-style
dining.

The two have taken the
Dundarave, frog-marched its
fusty cafeness out the door,
and replaced it with a
British dining house called,
coincidentally, The Brit. The
latter is hard to distinguish
from a neighbourhood pub.
