PREMIER Division- Jeading Bayside defeated
Capilano Rugby Football Club 13-9 Saturday in
_ the last match of 1999,

The game was a physical, hard fought match between two
steams with equally matched defences that allowed 184 points
each entering the weekend. Capilano missed some key scoring
. opportunities and was assessed penaities at crucial points of
‘the game.

Capilana kicker. Bob Motazed missed his first kick of the
day at West Vancouver's Klahanie Park but redeemed himself
_with ‘a successful kick to give Capilano a 3-0 lead.

Bayside kicker Kristi Narbett also missed his first attempt
at goal on.a penalty kick but his White Rock side took the
lead when prop Phil Coffin, a former New Zealand All-Black,

Capilano has scored 159 points in its first 11

Narbetr’s father John was at Klahanie Park to
see his son help beat his former side. The elder
Narbett played on the inaugural Capilano first
division team in 1969-70 after the merger of the
North Shore All-Blacks and West Vancouver
Barbarians. He appears in front row centre of
the team’s first group photograph which -was
reproduced in Capilano’s 30th anniversary
‘fundraising calendar for 2000.
