After an appearance Friday, Jean Victor Beaulac, 29, of Delta, and John Eldon Norris, 25, of Vancouver, were remanded in custody for an appearance Nov, 4. The two were charged in connection with the murder of Mary Ann Costin, 23, whose body was discovered in the waters of Lynn Creek near Bridgman Park Feb. 18, 1981. A five-month investigation by the local RCMP detachment and the RCMP Homicide Task Force culminated in the arrests and charges last week. Two face coke charges TWO OF five Lower Mainiand men charged with conspiracy to traffic in cocaine have been ordered to stand trial in Vancouver county court following a preliminary hearing in North Vancouver provincial court. Wolfgang Isachsen, 25, and Steven Cooke, 30, both of Burnaby, were originally charged jointly with James Bradley Lynch, 28, and John Spencer Robinson, 24, both of North Vancouver, and William Edward White, 30, of Vancouver, following a Feb. 22 RCMP seizure of a half pound of 85 per cent pure cocaine worth an estimated $180,000. Isachsen and Cooke will be tried by a judge without a jury. Charges against Robinson have since been dropped. . Lynch is scheduled to appear Feb, 20 in North Vancouver pro- vincial court for a preliminary hearing into charges against him, and White will appear later in November. The charges stemmed from a joint eight-month police investiga- tion conducted by the North Vancouver and Burnaby RCMP drug squads. Lynch faces an additional count of possession of cocaine for the purposes of trafficking in connection with an Oct. 23, 1987 seizure of the drug. Ex-teacher guilty Of sex counts FORMER WEST Vancouver teacher Alan Tsutomu Homma, already serving a three-year jail term for sexually assaulting a former male student, was found guilty Tuesday afternoon in Van- couver county court on two additional sexual assault charges. Vancouver county court Judge Marion Allan found the 39- year-old Homma guilty on both charges after a two-day trial. The charges were laid against Homma in connection with inci- dents that occurred in West Vancouver between September 1985 and June 1987 involving two former male students. Homma pleaded guilty April 21 in Vancouver county court to one count of gross indecency, one count of buggery and one count of sexual assault in connection with March 1981 te December 1983 incidents involving a mate student he met in his Grade 6 class. Homma will be sentenced Nov. 21 on the two latest sexual assault charges. Trial set in sex case A 28-YEAR-OLD Sowen Island man has been scheduled to appear Dec. 7 in North Vancouver provincial court for trial on two sex assault-retated charges. John Frank Deasey was originally charged with sexual) assault and touching the body of a female under the age of [4 for sexuat purposes in connection with Sept. 9 incidents in which a female was alleged to have been assaulted. Appearing Oct. 12 before Judge J.D. Layton, Deasey was remanded to Dec. 7 for trial on the charges.
