West Vancouver popularity

On Friday night, activity in the
restaurant reflected the uncertainty
of a new regime. Service was slow.
Busboys collided. Fernandez spun
on tiptoes like a runaway manag-
erial top.

Still, the restaurant, with its
West .Vancouver’ view of Van-
couver harbor and its bright inte-
rior; remains _popular. And its

($14.95).

The crab was accompanied by a
dipping dish of. standard lemon
butter sauce. Both disappeared
amidst the flash of crab-cracking
equipment and the sound of crab
meat being sucked from the shell.
Disquieting, but obviously fully
enjoyed. .

’ Presented with a selection of
potato balls, carrots and broccoli,
the Jamb was also enjoyable,
though cooked ‘somewhat beyond
medium-rare specifications.

We accompanied both entrees
with an excellent bottle of Beau-
jolais Villages La Marquisat 1984.
vintage ($19) from the restaurant’ s

From the dessert section, we
tested a Meringne Glacee and a
Homemade Pudding. Anglaise
(both $2.85)...
