Dear Editor:

I can’t see why everybody
seems to be denouncing
today’s crop of politicians -
federal, provincial, and
municipal - while, at the
same time, lauding “Good”
King Wenceslas in song.

. This king - actually he was
a duke - was looking out of
his castle window, his hands
in his pockets, when he spied
a poor peasant, up to his
neck in snow, gathering
winter fuel. The king did not
know who the peasant was.
But his lowly page, who
worked long hours in the
castle, knew the wood-
gatherer, where he lived,
and could even quote his
social insurance number if
he were asked. One would

Dear Editor:

The recent firebombings
and pickéting of Red Hot
Video outlets demonstrate
how little those involved
understand about what
motivates violent sex crimes
against women. Soft core
porn with its coy, teasing
message, is infinitely more
provocative ‘thar “thé ~ so-
called hard core por-
nography, which shows it
like it is, with no holds
barred. And, even though I
am not a fan of this kind of
material, I must admit that
there is a certain honesty
here, that is patently lacking
in the other varicty.

We are all awarc, of the
somewhat crude (yet apt)
label pinned on a female
who indicates by dress and
manner that she is sexually
promiscuous, only to opt out
at the proverbial midnight
hour. If she yells rape, she's

unlikely to foster much
sympathy, the = general
concensus being - play
