Last. vear 23 students do awards which bled them to study at 3 institutions as the Juilliard School, the Manhattan School of Music, the National Ballet School, Royal College of Music, London, and the National Theatre School of Canada. The Vancouver Foundation, founded — in 1943, now admini endowment of opp s $500,000 comprised of more than 650 individual crust funds. As a community foun- dation, it serves the whole of B.C., providing grants to charitable organizations as directed by donors, and from discretionary funds in the fields of arts and culture, child and family, education, environment, health and wel- fare, youth activities, and medical research. Total funds available for arts and culture programs and projects in 1999 is approximately $1 million. Therefore, Vancouver Foundation initiated the Advanced Arts Study Awards to help develop the talent from our province.
