As to the new Savoury era: it will feature a revamped menu that initially shifts the restaurant's focus away from the less defined Continental and clo:er to the more sharply defined French cuisine. When the restaurant closed back in 1990 to make way fora major Deep Cove village over- haul, it came close to staying closed for good. As it was, it took about a year before the Savoury was resurrected. And apart from having been closed for so long, the restaurant moved location: about a half block down Gallant into the ground floor of a gew building that was constructed on the site of the legendary Nutshell restaurant. Not far. But, coupled with the long delay in the Savoury 's reopening, it was far enough to ‘lose a host of regular customers, whose dining dollars drifted else- where. Five years later, Pecorelli con- tinues to rebuild the Savoury's clientele. But he has wisely cho- sen to accelerate that reconstruc- tion by sharing the workload. His Savoury partnership with Neveu is more a reunion than any- thing else. Neveu worked with . Pecorelli when the second Savoury originally opened.
