The item is that he’s just been : honored with yet another award. Tt The Maple Ridge Foundation has presented Bryan with their prestigious Humanitarian of the Year Award. This is only the se- cond time the award has been given, the first recipient being Lt. Gov. David Lam, who, incidental- ly, pinned the Order of B.C. on Bryan in Victoria last month. The hospital foundation's Hu- manitarian of the Year gala, with : West Van's multi-media man, aon Terry David Mulligan, emcecing, will be held on Sept. 29. The imagery, the scone and the sound system make it a moving and impressive spec- tacle. Ann Mortifee, cheerful and ca- sual, was in pedal-pushers and sweater, the very dapper Long John Baldry wore a cream suit, shirt and tie and a cream Panama hat over his long blonde locks, while Robert Davidson was a good combination of the two in blazer and slacks — though all eves were on his moon-mask medallion, which is reputedly worth more than $9,000!... He was feeling extra proud because the Grouse Nest restaurant is where the Molson lay race winner, Al Unser Jr., came following his big win on Sunday and where he hosted a celebratory dinner par- ttyl... Another of the platform guests was Victor Lotto, the executive director of Industry Science and Technology Canada, who helped arrange the federal monies for this $5 million project... it was also amazing just how quickly the project was completed — some cight months in all! Not that this wasn't a well-planned af- fair, bur it was Marilyn Baker who quickiy pointed out the North Van District building in- spector, who'd just arrived with the occupancy permit in his pocket!
